Great progress is being made on two public poppy displays which will be unveiled in Harlow this month ahead of Remembrance Sunday in November.
The Chair of Harlow Council, Councillor Clive Souter, has been getting involved by helping to paint some of the plastic poppies which will make up one of the displays.
The two displays are being put together by a local artist Valerie Fitz-John with support from Harlow Council. The location for the displays is being kept secret until both displays are unveiled later this month.
This is how residents can help and be part of something very special:
You can donate your old large fizzy drink bottles which will be turned into poppies. These need to be clean and have the plastic tops on them.
You can knit or crochet saucer size poppies. If you know someone who can knit or crochet let them know.
Just drop your old bottles and knitted or crocheted poppies into the Civic Centre by the end of next week. The Civic Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9 am and 4.45 pm.
