Tap dance is a style of dance in which a dancer wearing shoes fitted with a metal heel and toe taps sound out audible beats by rhythmically striking the floor.  There are several major variations on tap dance including flamenco, rhythm (jazz) tap, classical tap, Broadway tap, and post-modern tap.

Tap dancing is a lively and entertaining activity that improves balance, co-ordination and core control, which means better posture, less back pain and less chance of injury from tripping or falling.
