Discover the Gruffalo trail in the deep dark woods of Thorndon Country Park North.
If you call into the visitor centre you can pick up an activity map for 50p (great for the kids to keep) and set off on an adventurous walk through the deep dark woods to hunt for the Gruffalo along with all the other characters from the classic tale from Julia Donaldson. There are various activities along the way.
The Gruffalo characters are permanently at the park so you can go along and do the trail at anytime. The park is open from 9.30am – 5pm.

Pay and Display car parking is available in Thorndon North CM13 3RZ. (as of 6/8/13 the car park charge is £2.20)

The Visitor Centre includes a shop, information boards and a small tea room. There are toilets in a shed behind and a covered picnic area also lots of picnic tables available.

he trail is quite short about an hour and consists of six characters from Julia Donaldson’s Gruffalo books which are hidden in and around the short walk.
Your children can pose with the instantly recognisable characters from the book – the mouse, the fox, the owl, the snake and the Gruffalo’s child and the Gruffalo.

If the trail is too short why not take a picnic or go on one of the way-market walks too.  The scenery is lovely.

Disabled bays are provided in both car parks.
