Deborah Gallantree,Principal Engineer, Planning & Transportation had the following to say....
"Since work started on the A414 Dualling in the middle of November there has been good progress on the scheme despite the wintry weather. The most recent change to the traffic management is the installation of a set of temporary traffic lights to replace the roundabout at the junction with Southern Way. There has been considerable disruption to traffic flows in the first days of this arrangement. The lights are necessary to allow the improvement work to progress but we do recognise that the initial level of disruption is not acceptable. Ways of improving the timing and layout of the lights are being investigated and there are indications that the situation may be settling as motorists become familiar with the new layout."
