Snow came last night. All was quiet. In beds, sleepy heads, Not yet aware Until they stare, from window frame Where breath makes pattern on window pane. So soft it never made a sound Falling gently to the ground. Covering roof tops, gardens, roads. not seen for decades But explodes In just one night. A blanket, white In all its glory. A beautiful sight. As day breaks The earth awakes. Feet now tread, fingers aglow. No longer Virgin Snow.
