A Poem for Lent
A Poem for Lent
My birthday falls on Pancake Day.
Tomorrow’s the start of Lent.
Must have cake and chocolate now
Cause once my birthday’s spent
I’ll have to wait till Easter
Until I get my fill
Of all those lovely chocolate bars
That make me feel so brill!
But why give up the things I love
For forty days and nights?
To stop the things that I love best
Doesn’t seem so right.
But, if I’m good and keep off sweets
Until that Easter Day…….mmm….No!
On second thoughts I’ll eat the sweets.
Forget it’s Pancake Day!!
