A poem written by Bev Rogers from Wordways
Spare a thought for the lonely
Living on their own.
Spare a thought for the elderly,
Sitting all alone.
Those who are in hospital
Who cannot help their plight.
Please spare a thought for those in need
As your Christmas cards you write.
Spare a thought for the hungry
And the sick across the sea.
For those in need of medicine
Or die from HIV.
Water hard to come by,
From river or from well.
Please spare a thought for those in need
As you eat your Christmas meal.
Spare a thought as you gather,
For the festive Christmas spree.
With family all around you,
Presents wrapped beneath the tree.
Food upon the table and
Wine within your glass.
Please spare a thought for those in need
As the collection box, you pass.
