Lifewalks Harlow

Sara Morris who is Community Leisure Assistant has joined the Harlow Council Leisure Services team and will be working alongside David Hogg from EFDC and Helen Offord, Sports Development Officer Harlow Council to set up and develop Lifewalks Harlow.

Lifewalks offers a variety of walks every week, which are led by trained staff and volunteers.

These walks vary in distance, gradient and surface.

The scheme aims to benefit people’s health both physically and socially.

Physically by walking just three times a week can improve many things, from general movement to reducing the chances of having a stroke by up to 60% or developing heart disease by up to 50%.

Socially by participating in a scheme like Lifewalks as it gets people out and about meeting new people and raising self their esteem and improve personal fitness whilst having fun, meeting new people and making new friends.

Lifewalks has been very successful in Epping Forest and it would be great if we could spread this success into Harlow.

If you are interested in participating in Lifewalks Harlow, or would like to help by becoming a Lifewalks Leader or know of any interesting routes to include or would like any further information please call Sara Morris on: 01279 446403, or Helen Offord, Sports Development Officer on: 01279 446417
