Parndon Wood is a great day out for all the family.  You can just enjoy the surroundings or follow the guided trial with points of interest and things to look out for.  They organize fun days to workdays, guided walks to evening talks.  Check out events here including National Play Day with a range of activities including mini assault course, Den building, Bug hunting, Pond Dipping, Blind fold Trail.  Suit 0-17 year olds.

Ashlyns is open to the public free of charge every day.  You are welcome to walk the Farm Trails at North Weald, they start at the shop too. (Pick up a map from the shop).  There are several different paths, and there is always plenty  to see including the farm animals and wildlife.  Take a picnic and make the most of the beautiful countryside.  Their new restaurant is open throughout the day doing snacks and main meals.

 

Farm trails are open 9am – 5pm.

The Essex Police Museum is free and there is plenty to see and do:

Go back in time and feel what it was like to have been locked in a Victorian cell.
Learn about how Essex Constabulary was formed and how Essex Police evolved to what it is today.
Touch the Police objects and try on the Uniform.  There's even the opportunity to try on the handcuffs.
Examine evidence from real crime murder stories.
Join in the museum trail and have a go at fingerprinting.
