Harlow Stroke Support Group
An information ad support group is held on a Thursday morning at Great Parndon Community Centre,
from 10am to 12am.
People can come to have a chat on a personal lever whether this is just to talk to someone or if they need help in finding out where they need to go for advice, e.g. filling in of forms, getting help in who to contact etc.
Once a month we also do a training session such as speech therapy, stroke prevention etc.
Every Friday from 10am to 12am at the GPCA we hold a social group for our members where we play games do sewing, have quizzes etc as well as having chats and cups of tea & biscuits, and making new friends.
We also do trips out once a month such as a night at the Dogs (Roydon), Pub lunches, Garden centre’s, Craft shops, trips on canal boats, we have also been to Newmarket Races.
We also visit people who have had a stroke and who need support when they get back in their own homes, to let them know about our group and how it can help them.
If there is anything else you would like to know please call 01279 308313

I know this group and it is not what it seems.
It has something for every walk of life, it helps build confidence and treats you normal.
Infact apart from having a good giggle their, what I love is that I feel useful and normal there. Belive me I had to be nagged to get there, but now I wont miss a friday.
