The Link, Parsloe Road, Harlow
LOCATION/PARKING: Although it's practically on the outskirts of Harlow most people know where The Link is, and for guests travelling from outside of the town, it is relatively easy to find. It has a relatively large car park. 4/5

SIZE: For our wedding reception we had more than 140 people and it was just right - not so big people looked lost, and not so small that it was too packed to do anything. It has a large dance floor, bigger than a lot of venues; the only problem we did have (but one we knew would happen anyway) is that there wasn't enough seating/tables for everyone so a lot of people had to stand. 5/5

STAFF: The Link manager Gavin was friendly and helpful when we needed to discuss anything, and although the venue is controlled by the Great Parndon Community Association, in Abercrombie Way, we only had to pay the cost to the association and could otherwise deal with Gavin if we needed to. 4/5

PRICE/VALUE FOR MONEY: We paid £375 for the whole day (we could get in there from 10am and we hired the hall until 1am). This is reasonably good for the size hall it is, and bearing in mind you have three very busy staff behind the bar. We paid for the buffet catering separately, but Gavin can provide food as well. 4/5

OVERALL: It is difficult to fault this venue - it's no oil painting but you make it your own and the inside looks really nice when the hall is all decorated -  and is better than some halls I've seen which are more modern or in better settings. We also liked it because the bar is in the hall, so everyone stays together, rather than people hanging around outside in a bar next door and the hall looking empty which put us off other places.
It suited the number of people we needed to cater for, and Gavin's helpful attitude was very important when you have the stresses of planning a wedding.
