Walking
Epping Forest District Council Leisure Services produce a pack of 12 lealets, each featuring a popular lifewalks route. The walks are in Waltham Abbey, Upshire, High Beach, Loughton, Chigwell, Epping, Coopersale and North Weald.
Each walk lasts between 1.3 miles and 2.25 miles and describes the type of walk i.e. type of ground whether it might be muddy or if it is hard ground, what type of scenery you can expect to see and the parking facilities. The leaflets are very clearly designed which make it virtually impossible to get lost! There is a map and clear written instructions, there are photographs of every path junction overlaid with a direction arrow. There are 2 ways to obtain the pack:Over the counter Call in at EFDC Leisure Services (adjoining Epping Sports Centre), 25 Hemnall Street, Eping between 9am - 5pm Mon to Fri. The pack costs £3.99 if collected in person. By Post Send a cheque for £4.49 (payable to Epping Forest Distric Council) to EFDC Leisure Services, 25 Hemnall St, Epping Essex CM16 4LX. Please include your name and address, stating that you would like to be sent the pack of Lifewalks route leaflets. We done our first walk yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it.
