Volunteers required

I run a group for people with dementia and their carers with the help of volunteers. At the moment we are in need of much wanted volunteers to enable us to increase the number of visitors we can invite along to the group each Wednesday or Friday. We meet on these days at St Andrews Church Hall at the Stow from 9.30am until 2.00pm. Volunteers can help out with a huge range of things from playing dominoes to having a game of scrabble. No one is expected to commit until they come along to see what we do at the group. I can't count the number of times people have come along and been surprised at how lively and funny the group can be. All we ask is that you have a sense of humour, are lively, like conversation and also have the ability to listen.
We do run the group on very limited funds so I am constantly on the look-out for people who can entertain with singing, playing piano etc for no fee. The service is free for all visitors who attend and in some cases it is the only outing they have from week to week.
