Walk your way to games and get fitter

IT is that time of the year again, a time for reflecting and making a New Year resolution to get fit. Why not give your new year a kick start in the fresh air and join in a six mile walk on Saturday 8 January 2011?

Harlow Council has teamed up with The Essex Legacy from the 2012 Games at Essex County Council to deliver the Walking Your Way to the Games programme.

There will be 20 Led walks in the lead up to London 2012 across five routes based on the Olympic rings with varying degrees of duration and difficulty. On completing each of the routes, walkers will be awarded with a coloured pin badge to represent the colour of the route that they have completed.

The third walk (yellow route) will be held on Saturday 8 January 2011. The route will be around Latton Woods and Harlow Park Woods with the meeting point being Latton Common Road. Walkers are invited to arrive at 9.45am and be ready to start the walk at 10am. The walk is six miles long and will take around 2 hours to complete.
